Who You Are

You are a capable supply chain professional with the ability to think strategically and execute effectively. You work cross-functionally with internal teams at Sila, and build robust relationships with external supply chain partners to enable a scalable, sustainable and cost-competitive supply chain for your assigned commodities.

As a Commodity Manager you will support new product initiatives by engaging early with R&D teams and provide supply chain guidance to enable effective transition to production and ramp.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Establish a robust and resilient supply network that delivers competitive advantage to Sila.
  • Develop and implement supplier and commodity strategies, including (but not limited to) negotiating contracts, pricing, performance management metrics, service level expectations and governance standards.
  • Ensure Sila and suppliers are aligned with technical and commercial requirements by working cross-functionally with Engineering, Legal, Quality Assurance, Finance, and Manufacturing.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to price, performance and scalability by engaging with internal and external partners.
  • Identify and recommend new key suppliers aligned with commodity strategies and support ongoing supplier evaluations and audits.

Knowledge And Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in a strategic sourcing role for direct materials
  • Background in sourcing new products, establishing supplier relationships and scaling operations in a manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier performance management skills.
  • Knowledge and experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, and Sage X3.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally or domestically at least one week per month if required.

The starting base pay for this role is between $106,000 and $154,500 at the time of posting. The actual base pay within these ranges depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, equity, and bonuses. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future
