• University degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized university.
• 5-7 years post graduate experience in steel production or similar operating environment out of them at least 5 years must be in MIDREX based DR plant.
• In depth specialist skills and knowledge in mechanical engineering specialism plus well developed knowledge and understanding of the entire production operation
• Comprehensive understanding of plant, equipment and process operation in MIDREX based DR plant.
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of safety, environment and quality system procedures and standards especially in MIDREX based DR plant.
• Well-developed analytical skills.
• Project management skills.
• Planning and co-ordinating skills.
• Supervisory and people management skills.
• Ability to work both as part of a team and independently
• Problem solving skills – both reactive troubleshooting and analytical evaluation

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering

• 4-6 years experience with high voltage distribution equipment with well developed operational skills on a variety of HV electrical equipment including High Voltage Electrical distribution networks, Power transformers, Switchgear and SCADA systems
• Aluminium industry and/or International work experience would be an advantage

Required experience

• 6-8 years experience in the Aluminium industry preferably in Casthouse
• 1-2 years Supervisory experience
